چکیده
The experts framework consists of n experts who each make predictions every day, and an online algorithm that makes a decision after seeing all the expert predictions. At the end of the day the loss/gain for each expert is revealed. The goal of the online algorithm is to perform not much worse than the single best expert over a long period of time. We analyzed the algorithm where the initial weights of all experts is 1, the online algorithm follows expert i with probability proportional to the weight wi, and the weights are updated as wi(t+ 1) = wi(t)(1− )` (t) i . The expected loss L for this online algorithm is bounded in terms of the loss L∗ for the best expert,

By a somewhat democratic process, it was established that the graded work for the course will be two-fold: scribe notes (such that the participants and the instructor emerge with a relatively complete set of lecture notes) and homework exercises (probably three sets of challenging-butnot-life-threatening problems, such that everybody gets some practice solving problems and the instructor may om...
متن کاملTopics in Infinite Groups
Preface These are lecture notes for a course taught in Cambridge during Lent 2014 by Jack Button, on a topics in infinite group theory. There are likely to be errors, which are solely the fault of the scribe. If you discover any, please contact me [email protected].
متن کاملTopological Methods in Algebraic Geometry
Preface These are live-texed lecture notes for a course taught in Cambridge during Michaelmas 2013 by Burt Totaro, on a hodgepodge of topics at the intersection of algebraic topology and algebraic geometry. An unfortunate side effect of live-texing is that it tends to introduce a lot of errors, which are solely the fault of the scribe. If you find any, please let me know at
